Since the early 1950’s, Eros Florist has been part of Pretoria’s landscape. In December 1974 my parent’s had the opportunity to buy Eros Florist.
I started my journey in the floral industry as a schoolgirl, working in in the florist for pocket money. Visualizing the potential for growth, I joined my mom in the business after working for Truworths for 3 years. I was fortunate that my mother gave me the space to experiment and introduce new ideas into the business.
My passion for flowers and the floral industry was nurtured from a young age, growing up as a 2nd generation florist. Creating beauty with flowers, sharing and making this accessible to everyone keeps me motivated daily.
The shop’s original premises was a small glass kiosk in the centre of a lawn. As Hatfield’s business centre evolved, Eros did as well, taking the plunge and opening a 2nd store in Hatfield Plaza Shopping Centre, operating both for 25 years. In 2018 we had the wonderful opportunity to buy our existing premises, an old house built in the early 1900’s, situated on the corner of Festival & Arcadia street Hatfield.
Eros Florist is a retail florist, where you can buy from a single flower to masses of flowers at a time.
I have always had a passion to learn as much as I could about flowers. I bought every flower book or magazine that I could lay my hands on, this being my source of inspiration, subscribing to international magazines, this was long before internet. Today, social media is filled with new trends, which we adapt to suite our local market, just like fashion, flower trends and styles continually change.
A passion that we all share at Eros Florist is our customer service. We are proud and humble that we have been voted Best Florist in Pretoria-by-Pretoria News Readers for 15 Years – including 2021.
Our customers have several ways to communicate with us, not only can orders be placed on our website, but we also take telephone calls as well as WhatsApp calls. Mostly we welcome shoppers into our flower heaven.
Making it possible to achieve my vision, I have had a dedicated team behind me, the support of my husband Ken, and staff are invaluable.
