Ilze completed her B.A. (Psychology, Tourism and Recreation) Cum Laude as well as Higher Education Diploma (HED) at PU for CHE (currently known as North West University) in 2001. She furthermore completed B.Ed and M.Ed. (Educational Psychology) degrees at the University of Johannesburg. Her internship was conducted at Sparrow Foundation School, a special school with learners presenting challenges that include medical, physical, social and other learning problems.

Ilze has performed as educator at secondary and tertiary level at various private and government institutions and is an expert presenter representing UJ at a PSYSSA conference as early as 2008. Ilze has received extensive training in the Educational Psychology field and specialises in performing the following services during her psychological therapy sessions:

Eye Movement Integration Therapy (EMI) – a neuropsychological therapy for trauma.
