Kariena Olivier School of Ballet

 

The Kariena Olivier School of Ballet was established in 1984.
The studio is situated at the Berario Recreation Centre, Berario, Northcliff, Johannesburg.
The principal of the ballet school is Kariena Kolisko. Nee Olivier
Kariena studied ballet at the Pretoria Art, Ballet and Music School and at the University of Cape town Ballet school, graduating with a Diploma in Ballet after a 3 year training course in 1982.
She has been a Royal Academy of Dancing ballet teacher in Northcliff, Johannesburg, since 1984, teaching under the name Kariena Oliver School of Ballet. Students are entered annually into RAD examinations as well as numerous dance Festivals in and around Johannesburg.
Excellent results are achieved.
She is also the founder an director of The Ballet Bugs Theatre Company! Which was founded in 2001. This children's company has staged 9 shows which were staged at Roodepoort Civic Theatre, Wits Theatre as well as the State Theatre in Pretoria.
The studio also produces shows and displays annually at various theatres i.e. Roodepoort Civic Theatre and Wits Theatre.
Thousands of children and adults have done ballet with us and many have gone on to become professional dancers and ballet teachers.
