My name is Alexia Chappel, and I am the audiologist behind Alexia Chappel Audiology.
My journey into this profession began with a deep fascination for the connection
between people, communication, and quality of life. From a young age, I was drawn
to understanding how we interact with the world through sound and how hearing
shapes our relationships, confidence, and independence. Audiology offered the
perfect blend of science, empathy, and problem-solving, allowing me to make a
meaningful difference in people’s lives.
Choosing this profession was a natural fit. I wanted a career where I could build lasting
relationships with patients, support them through vulnerable moments, and guide them
toward hearing solutions that help them reconnect with their world. I truly believe that
“amplification doesn’t just help people hear; it helps people belong.” Over the years,
I’ve seen how treating hearing loss, tinnitus, and communication difficulties can restore
confidence, strengthen families, and bring ease back into daily life. Portia, my right
hand at reception, ensures every patient feels genuinely welcomed and cared for, so
they are in the best possible hands from the moment they walk through our door.
What makes this field even more inspiring is how rapidly hearing technology is
advancing. Today’s hearing aids offer incredible clarity, connectivity, and comfort, and
research continues to highlight the broader health benefits of amplification, including
reduced cognitive effort, improved social engagement, and better overall well-being.
Being part of a profession that blends compassionate care with exciting, ever-evolving
innovation is one of the reasons I love what I do.
My focus is on providing personalised, evidence-based care. I believe every patient
deserves time, attention, and a plan tailored to their needs. Whether it is diagnostic
assessments, hearing aid fittings, noise protection, swim and sleep plugs, auditory
processing disorders, or long-term management, I prioritise comfort, clarity, and
ongoing support.
Outside the practice, I value a balanced life centred around family, connection, and
the outdoors. Family time keeps me grounded, and spending time with loved ones is
one of my greatest joys. I also love being active, whether it is playing padel, enjoying
a round of golf, or simply being outside in nature. These moments allow me to
recharge, stay energised, and bring a positive, motivated mindset back into my work.
Audiology is more than my profession; it is my passion. I am grateful every day for the
opportunity to help people experience better hearing, better communication, and a
better quality of life.
