DanceXtreme was established in 2002 and originated as a childhood dream. The dance styles available are: Ballet, Modern dance, Tap dance and Free Style / Hip Hop.
Ballet is a type of performance dance that originated in the Italian Renaissance courts of the 15th century and later developed into a concert dance form in France and Russia. It has since become a widespread, highly technical form of dance with its own vocabulary. It has been globally influential and has defined the foundational techniques used in many other dance genres. Modern dance refused classical ballet's stress on feet as the primary catalyst for dance movements. It, instead, put emphasis on the torso employing such elements as contract-release, floor work, fall and recovery, and improvisation. Tap dance is a form of dance characterized by using the sound of one's tap shoes hitting the floor as a percussive instrument. As such, it is also commonly considered to be a form of music. Hip-hop dance refers to street dance styles primarily performed to hip-hop music or that have evolved as part of hip-hop culture. It includes a wide range of styles primarily breaking, locking, and popping which were created in the 1970s and made popular by dance crews in the United States.
