Aragon Vet Services was founded in July 2009 by Dr Diana Foden. 3 years later Aragon Veterinary Clinic was established 3 years later in September 2013. After 8 years of working for other vets in South Africa and the UK, Diana gained sufficient experience and confidence to take on the challenge of starting a business of her own. Using the skills and expertise gained from working in 14 other practices as a locum and permanent and doing her Honours degree in Equine medicine Surgery, Radiology and Ophthalmology through Onderspoort part time.

She fell in love with the midlands during her student years and was a locum for an equine vet clinic in the area for 2 years, establishing her name. Her clients suggested going on her own and that they would support her – thus Aragon Vet Services began. She borrowed money to buy an ultrasound machine to service various equine studs and stocked her car with all the essentials for an equine practice. She worked from an old stud farm when she needed to bring horses back for treatment or referred to bigger hospitals as required. Clients asked her to look at their pets and cattle – not being able to say no to helping all animals, she started doing house calls for pets too which everybody loved as avoided the stress of bringing them to the vet. The mobile clinic had its limitations, thus she knew at some stage a clinic was on the cards. During this time, she also took on being the course vet for the National Horse Racing association and monitored race horses on race days for 4 years. This extra income eventually allowed her to open Aragon Vet Clinic in the Meander Square. Now 4 years later the hospital has been expanded again. The practice focuses on Equine work and has a fully equipped Small Animal Surgery with vet shop, fully equipped blood lab, digital X-ray and Ultrasound, Sterile theatre for operations, dog parlour, dentistry unit and hospital.

Diana has a never ending quest for knowledge and improving her expertise. She enjoys practicing a high standard of Veterinary Science and works up cases as far as she can. She is a diligent determined, amicable vet and has great empathy for her patients. Her perseverance and caring approach is appreciated by her clients and patients.
