Aqua Water Aerobics in an indoor, heated pool is the best exercise any person of any age or fitness level can do. Aqua can be performed by young and old, fit or unfit with fantastic results. Even sportspeople in other disciplines can use aqua to improve special skills and muscle specific improvements. The water routine is excellent for arthritis and back pain, hips and knees sufferers, elderly, overweight and pregnant women. Even people recovering from pregnancy, injuries or operations can do exercise safely in the water. All these special populations can exercise safely if you are under a qualified Aqua Instructor. I qualified in 1998 with Reebok, SAWFA and Hydro with PAASA. Combining aerobics, muscle specific, rehabilitative water exercises with Pilates principles of stretching and breathing brings great relief of pain and improvement in total body conditioning in all my clients.
My clients feel fabulous, relaxed, toned and strengthened after an hour class. Using different modalities and programs like cross-training, fat-burning, blissful relaxation routines inspires my clients to do regular aqua classes. Water promotes flexibility and balance. Strengthens and tones muscles. Increases cardio-vascular fitness and exercises the whole body. Workouts is comprehensive with music, equipment like balls, noodles, etc.
I use the natural resistance of water to improve body’s composition and tone, strengthen muscles, increase aerobic and muscular endurance and improve co-ordination and agility.
Water adds 12 – 14 % more resistance than exercise on land. There is extensive research showing the benefits of water fitness and my clients testimonials can vow for this. They become family and friendships start to develop, being an important backup system for many clients. Combining fun, training and comfort provide satisfaction and enjoyment to my clients. My emphasis during workouts is to enhance health and fitness. Body, mind and soul gets attention when you exercise in the water. My Aqua Fitness evolved into a full-blown Wellness Centre where I do Health Analyses screening and treatment with fantastic equipment. For 19 years in this industry I haven’t stopped learning and qualified myself in Nutrition and Natural Health.
