Breast Cancer Fundraiser Breakfast in Port Elizabeth

Michelle Brown from Browns public relations company in Port Elizabeth decided to do something special for her mom and to also help people suffering with cancer so each year she hosts a breast cancer fundraiser breakfast.

Every year,in October, for the past 14 years…I have co-ordinated and hosted a Breast Cancer fundraiser, as a tribute to and then in memory of my Mom…. and each year, I am moved by the incredible support and generosity shown by those women who attend, by the Prize and Gift Sponsors and by the Celebrity friends who readily agree to be Guest Speaker…at no Fee… and in aid of the cause!

Each year, I give 100% of the monies raised to Breast Cancer – aligned Beneficiaries.. and the last few years..it has been the Look Good Feel Better Foundation: whose volunteers are women who hold workshops at the various hospitals and oncology clinics, showing those undergoing chemo…how to fit their wigs, apply their makeup…so that they then “look good and feel better”

I am in awe of these women…both the Volunteers and those undergoing treatment.. and its through my fundraiser that I salute not only the strength and fortitude my late Mom displayed, but also those characteristics displayed by women who are constantly fighting this dreaded disease

This year, I will host my 15th and final event.. a Breakfast for 350 women (already sold out!) during October… as it’s Breast Cancer Month… and my Guest Speaker is the fabulous Pnina Fenster, Editor of GLAMOUR; Its a time that we celebrate the awesomeness that is women!!

May time and advances in medical technology help mankind to find a cure so that women are able to live a full life, with dignity and without suffering.
