BrightSparkz Tutors

BrightSparkz Tutors was founded by 3 university students in 2005, who had identified a need for extra-curricular academic support for South African primary and high school learners. This support took the form of one-on-one tutoring at the home of a learner, allowing for a comfortable, familiar learning environment and an extremely convenient option for busy parents.

BrightSparkz Tutors has since expanded into Cape Town, Johannesburg, Pretoria and Durban, and offers a variety of education related services. Our core service is one on one tutoring at the learner's home. Our tutors undergo a rigorous screening process, and a suitable tutor is carefully selected based on a variety of criteria and matched to assist a learner depending on their individual needs. We also offer small group tutoring (usually 2, or a maximum of 3 learners at a time), who are struggling with the same subject, are in the same grade, and who have similar academic needs.  Although we specialise in school tutoring, we also provide university tutoring as well as tutoring for adults wanting to learn a new language or improve their language proficiency.  We also work with corporate companies, non-profit organisations and trusts who sponsor the tutoring of learners.

BrightSparkz has recently launched some exciting new services too:

  • Online tutoring via Skype for learners who are situated outside of major cities, with one of our specially trained online tutors.
  • BrightSparkz Mobile Maths & Science platform for learners in Grades 8 – 12 which covers all CAPS and IEB topics for Maths, Natural Science, Physics and Chemistry in-depth, and accessible via smartphone, tablet and PC.
  • Holiday workshops for study skills enhancement run by the Educational Psychologist we have as part of our team, who has vast experience with both tutoring and teaching.

Our primary value is offering excellent personal service and high quality tutoring, and our vision is to be able to offer an academic support service to every South African learner, no matter where they live or what their background is!
