Carstens Podiatry

Carstens Podiatry is based in Durbanville and has been around for 30 years. We see numerous patients ranging from the geriatrics, paediatrics, diabetics and a lot of sports injuries and rehabilitation. Carstens Podiatry has its own lab for manufacturing custom orthotics, and fabricating minor shoe modifications or insets. These devises are made by hand and tailored to each patients’ specific needs. As well as a biomechanical room to analyse sports patients and advise on the right footwear, footcare and or orthotics.

A large number of our patients include geriatrics that have difficulty cutting their nails or struggle with painful corns and calluses. Carstens Podiatry services also includes but is not limited to; diabetic wound care and education, treating fungal nails, warts through various methods, managing painful feet due to sport or underlying medical conditions such as osteo- or rheumatoid arthritis, sports injuries, flat feet or high arch feet and their related complications. We also help with the management of ingrown toenails which can be treated conservatively or surgically.
In a lot of instances with early intervention many of the long-term complications can be prevented; for that reason if you have any foot problems visit your podiatrist for assistance and advice.
Carstens Podiatry is open Monday to Friday from 8:00 - 17:00 and one Saturday a month, usually at the end of the month.
