As the official provider of training aligned with the Association for Sandplay Therapy (AST),
Sandplay South Africa offers internationally recognised and South African CPD-accredited programs for mental health professionals.
While not an association or formal affiliation, Sandplay South Africa forms part of the AST’s
global training framework, with a specific focus on equipping professionals across South Africa and the African continent to become registered Sandplay Therapists with AST. The training is rooted in a deep respect for the non-verbal, symbolic healing processes unique to Jungian Sandplay Therapy, offering a profound and developmentally attuned approach to psychological
healing, specifically for issues like early childhood wounding.
Beyond its formal training provided, Sandplay South Africa serves as a supportive community
for therapists—providing ongoing mentorship, peer learning, clinical guidance, and individual
and group case consultation. Whether a practitioner is navigating a complex client process or seeking deeper understanding of symbolic material, this platform offers a space for growth,insight, and connection.
In addition to its training arm, Dr Celia also runs a full-time therapy practice under the Sandplay South Africa banner, working with both children and adults. Her practice offers Sandplay Therapy as well as specialist counselling services, creating a safe, expressive, and deeply attuned therapeutic space for clients navigating trauma, emotional distress, or developmental
challenges.
