Lymph Africa (Pty) LTD originally started in 2015 as Lymphatic Education Africa (Pty) LTD with the main focus on Lymphoedema EDUCATION and creating greater awareness in the general public and especially for medical doctors and for all health care professionals about the management options and treatment available for patients with Lymphoedema, Oedema and Lipoedema. From creating more awareness, we recognised there was a need for greater cost-effective options and availability including professional training in compression products available in South Africa and thus we have evolved and have two main divisions to the business today.
Firstly, we continue our focus on Education and provide HPCSA accredited CPD courses and learning opportunities to all qualified health care professionals who are interested in learning more about the field of Lymphatic Therapy including, Wound Care Therapy and proper compression garments and products.
As our business evolved to Lymph Africa – Products we are now proud to announce that we are an international importer and exclusive reseller of all high-quality compression products including JUZO (Julius Zorn from Germany) and BSN Medical related to the treatment and management of oedema, lymphoedema and lipoedema. Our focus is to sell high end, difficult to source products from Europe and the USA to Distributors and Lymphoedema Therapists throughout Southern Africa. We hope to inspire our re-sellers to include great customer service while offering high-quality products at competitive prices, so this benefit is passed down to the patients who need these products most.
Lymphology is a vastly under-studied area of medical specialisation in Africa. Lymphoedema is one of the most commonly misdiagnosed and under-treated conditions associated with cardiac, orthopaedic, vascular as well as cancer treatment and survivorship world-wide. Lymphoedema, lipoedema and other oedema pathologies that present with uncontrolled swelling can and should be safely treated following an accurate diagnosis utilizing the specialized therapeutic techniques learned in our lymphoedema and wound care certification courses. The technique of therapy that creates the core of this treatment regimen is based on the International Standards of practice for Complete Decongestive Therapy-CDT and Wound Care Management.
