Makeup & Hair by MB

I fell into makeup, well not literally – actually come to think of it, I’ve done that too. What I meant to say was make up completely took me by surprise on my own wedding day. You can say that it was love at first sight.

I started my working life as a professional dancer and then Executive P.A, you can say that I’ve always loved everything arty but learnt a lot on how to conduct business from my P.A days. Little did I know what started out as just a hobby in 2005, soon after became my full time career. Fast forward 11 years and I now find myself with a resume that I’m very proud off.

I have over 400 (and counting) weddings to my name as makeup artist, and twice have been nominated by my brides through SABIA as one of the top bridal makeup artists in Gauteng. I am now based in Cape Town and travel all over South Africa for my work.

My work has been featured in some of South Africa’s top magazine’s like Cosmo’, Savage Magazine, 1st Edition of the S.A Playboy (worked with the International model Maria Eriksson) and a couple of other local magazines like Premier, Keur, Due East, O Magazine, Huisgenoot, Get It (Jhb West), Get It Pta, Good Housekeeping, Clicks etc, for TV I’ve done TV commercials, talk shows, Cooking show Chopped SA which can be seen on MNET, Kruiskyk and the Home Channel and Food Channel on DSTV and I assisted on several feature films such as Treurgrond, Trou Voete, Vir Altyd and the International Sci Fi film, Planet of the Sharks.

I’ve also had the pleasure of working with several of our local celebrities and socialites (singers, actors & socialites)

I’m a SETA accredited assessor & facilitator which gives me the opportunity to train very high quality make up artist’s and lecturing & assessing students at some of SA top training institutes. I also have my own Makeup Artist Training Academy in Pretoria (Montana), Cape Town (Table View) and West Rand (Muldersdrift) which focuses on very private and intimate training to all my students.
