Family matters mediation:
In 2008 I began my training as a family matters mediator and I have been actively mediating since 2009.

I am a member of the South African Association of Mediators (SAAM) which is the regulating body for family matters mediators in Gauteng. I became accredited by SAAM in 2012 and I have maintained my accreditation ever since.  My membership and accreditation by SAAM includes abiding by the Code of Ethics and Professional Responsibility for Accredited Family and Divorce Mediators issued by SAAM.

 It also means that with my mediation skills and experience together with my professional qualification and experience that I am qualified to assist families in mediation of all family related disputes. This includes the negotiation of all aspects of divorce – the financial claims arising between spouses (the division of assets and/or calculation of accrual claims) and parenting arrangements such as the drafting of parenting plans that are in compliance with the provisions of the Children’s Act.  I also able to assist parents with post-divorce issues such as changes in maintenance contributions and contact arrangements. I have also assisted partners in domestic partnerships negotiate their separation and siblings struggling with issues with their extended families.

Civil and commercial mediation:

I am also trained and accredited by the University of Stellenbosch’s Africa Centre for Dispute Resolution in conjunction with Conflict Dynamics as a civil and commercial mediator. I also hold a certificate of accreditation from the Centre for Effective Dispute Resolution (CEDR) in the UK. I draw on my 12 years experience as a practising attorney and my skills as a mediator when assisting in disputes such as business disputes, disagreements such as between landlord and tenant or between co-workers.
