Dr Dirkie de Villiers is an Educational Psychologist and founder of MindScience Worx. She likes to challenge herself in her pursuit to find the most up-to-date therapeutic aids to enable her to provide the best services possible to her clients. Her endeavours culminated in the founding of MindScience Worx. The services at the practise extend beyond that of a regular psychology practise and includes a Smartbrain Centre and a Neurofeedback (EEG) centre.
Her initial studies were completed at the then Rand Afrikaans University (now the University of Johannesburg) where she obtained the following degrees: HOD; BA Humanities and BED Educational Psychology. Thereafter, she did her MED (Educational Psychology) and DPHIL (Educational Psychology) degrees at the University of Pretoria.
Dr de Villiers specialise in assessment and therapy for both individuals and families. She believes that each and every person has astonishing potential, but that this potential is not always fully developed. Her main goal at MindScience Worx is to ensure the development of every client to his or her full potential. She enjoys working with people of all ages, but do have a soft spot for children! She has two wonderful boys of her own, and she knows and can identify with the challenges parents face each day.
She is happily married for 27 years and for her personal wellbeing and development she loves to jog in the mornings, and read all the latest research in the field of psychology. She believes that it is important to give back to her community and therefore she is an active member of their community.
Her life philosophy is simple – there is a solution to every problem!
