Based in Cape Town, MINK Design was founded by Sihan Wiid in 2007 and provides a comprehensive interior design service for residential, commercial, retail and hospitality properties. We place absolute importance on understanding the particular needs of our clients for a personalised service delivered to an uncompromisingly high standard and attention to detail. Our services incorporate all aspects of interior architecture, design, build, lighting, and spatial planning, procurement and project management. Sihan is intrinsically involved from inception to completion, ensuring that work is carried out to exacting standards, on time and within budget.
Sihan has featured on the Breakfast Espresso show on SABC 3 where did a total set redesign over a 7 day period of live television broadcasting. Sihan has extended the MINK creative vision into a wide array of different projects that include custom furniture design, bespoke wallpapers and graphic elements that introduces an exciting and fresh style to the spaces she creates.
Mink design philosophy is always based on the idea of developing a look and feel that a client can call their own. This is achieved by truly understanding their needs and personalities, only then can one creatively project this into reality. Equally important is the aspect of longevity. The design must be durable and clients must be happy in their newly created spaces for a long time.
Trends come and go and so it is important for Sihan to created harmonious and personal spaces that outlast trends. Ultimately for MINK it is the connection of colour, textures, materials and comfort that energise all spaces. These ideals transcend the trends and deliver uniqueness to every space. Sihan refers this to the interplay of all the interior components.
As all projects require different demands and challenges MINK purposely avoids a style labeling. Every client has a unique personality. Completed projects can be termed contemporary classic, classic, modern to edgy. This is reflected in the wide scope of works from luxury apartments, funky loft studios, large residences, corporate offices and a couple of retail spaces Mink has been involved with.
