Reflecting on the hairdressers Candice has been to in the past, an eclectic and eccentric mix of people, whom she has chosen to cut her hair in the recent years, have inspired her to express her own individuality through haircutting and colouring.
As a novice apprentice to Clinton Valjeaux from Jeauval Hair ( Hyde Park Johannesburg) Candice gained invaluable experience while paying dues as a shampooing assistant, very different to her present duties by: shampooing and rinsing, massaging, fetching coffee, and blow-drying clients hair. Gradually stepping up to high-lighting and colours.
Her passion for information and implementation of forefront breakthrough hair formula’s gained Candice a position with L’Oreal Professional and REDKEN as their Colour Technician for the Western Cape, she is trained in and has personally expanded on cutting techniques from Redken and L’Oreal Proffessionel.
Expanding her knowledge and abilities by travelling to Paris and London working with a select group of well-known hairdressers who have gained sterling worldwide recognition, to make mention of a few such as: Royston Blythe(UK), Guy Kremmer, Jonny Engstrom (UK and France), Bertram K (Austria), and also Carolyn Newman from Charles Worthington (UK). Last but not least Michelle Marshall (UK) and Richard Kavanagh (New Zealand).
With years of experience behind her, Candice has gained the necessary skills and confidence to handle the most complex of hairstyling challenges.
Candice has been the proud salon owner of MIRRORS hair lab for almost 7 years. Her consistency in caring for her clients by giving them not only personal attention, but also by treating every client to a relaxing and fun experience in the chair while magically transforming the ordinary into the extra-ordinary. As a result having every client glowing and beaming with confidence as they leave the salon.
