On a Whim is a gift store that opened its doors in the Lonehill shopping centre in July 2014. The owner of On a Whim is Natalie Rowles, an energetic, enthusiastic, dynamic woman. Coming from a corporate world, the leap into front of house retail and becoming an entrepreneur was the perfect step into a realm of possibilities and endless excitement for her. Natalie has an unwavering passion for offering her customers the ideal balance of exceptional products in an inviting atmosphere and expertise in customer services.
On a Whim curates and offers unique souvenirs, novelties, gifts and hard-to-find goods handcrafted by local designers and artists. We have a memorable store environment, distinct logo, amazing employee personalities, therefore creating a diverse store identity and image.
We offer a wide range of products including jewellery, ceramics, home decor items, cards and artwork. We have many gifts for occasions such as birthdays, anniversaries and a wonderful selection of African memorabilia for the tourism market. We do not stock mass-produced products and are the authorized or exclusive distributors for many special brands. In addition, by offering particular private-labelled merchandise we have developed a loyal customer following and numerous revisits.
Our inventory size and selection can vary, so we always suggest “if you see it and you love it, buy it then and there”. On a Whim hosts many special events, including annual sales, Black Friday discounts and special merchandise especially brought in for mother’s day, valentine’s day, Easter and Christmas. We offer additional services such as gift-wrapping and intermittent deliveries.
Our seasoned, knowledgeable sales staff and our superior service helps develop long-term relationships with customers, allowing them an enjoyable shopping experience and therefore encourages repeat business. We accept payment with cash or debit/ credit cards (excluding Diners Club International).
