  1. COUNSELLING PSYCHOLOGY PRACTICE

In this part of the business the focus is on:

Counselling and therapy for adults, couples, parents, adolescents, and children. Professor Pretorius has a holistic and integrative therapeutic approach and believes that the physiological, emotional, cognitive and behavioural systems are influenced by the relationships we find ourselves in and we, in turn, influence our relationships. The aim of therapy is always to facilitate constructive change and to find meaning in everyday life challenges. I believe that all people have the capacity to turn tragedy into triumph.

 

 

  1. CPD ACADEMY FOR PSYCHOLOGY PRACTITIONERS

The CPD Academy is an HPCSA accredited Service Provider and here the focus is on development of Professional Practitioners to enhance their skills:

 

  • A fully accredited and exciting CPD Program for Registered Psychologists in all categories of Registration, Registered Counsellors and Psychometrists is presented throughout the year. The full program is available on the website www.gertiepretorius.co.za.
  • The spirit of Continued Professional Development (CPD) is honoured by providing a community of practice and a learning space that fosters and facilitate skills development as well as reflective practice. The full program is available on the website gertiepretorius.co.za.
  • Small Interest Groups for specific practice areas like gestalt therapeutic skills, couples counselling and so on are available.
  • Individual mentoring and supervision for beginner psychologists and Registered Counsellors focus on the fostering of Practice Management Skills as well as Ethics in Practice.
  1. PSYCHO-LEGAL EVALUATIONS AND ASSESSMENTS

Psycho-Legal Practice within an ethical framework and the compilation of Psycho-Legal Reports for Court is being conducted within this part of the business. Psycho-Legal Reports are compiled in the context of litigation. Criminal matters including sexual offences, fraud and more serious offences.

  • Family matters relating to divorce including matters about residence, care and contact of minor children.
  • Matters pertaining to Parental Alienation.
  • Matters pertaining to Court applications of relocation within and outside of South Africa.
