The Village Vet Group first opened its doors when the Rivonia Village Veterinary clinic was founded in 1995. Over the years we have grown from one small veterinary clinic to a group. In 2003, the Sunninghill Village Veterinary Clinic joined, and then in 2006 the Village Vet shop in The Wedge shopping centre in Morningside, was opened. Right from the very beginning we have strived to provide first class veterinary services to meet both our clients’ and their pets’ needs.
We believe that the human-animal bond is a remarkable thing that should be celebrated and strengthened. We understand that, to our clients, cats and dogs are not just pets, they are family members and so we welcome each of our patients into the Village Vet Group family and treat them as we would our own pets. “Total care for life” is our mission, and we are there for our clients and their pets every step of the way.
We have a friendly, well-trained, experienced team who will strive to exceed our clients’ expectations. We provide first class veterinary services as well as a well stocked shop providing super premium food, veterinary pet products and accessories.
Both Veterinary Clinics have Digital X-ray (including dental x-ray) and Ultrasound facilities, as well as in-house laboratory equipment, which helps us make a diagnosis quickly and with as little stress as possible to you and your pet! We also have a full surgical suite for surgical cases, and separate dog and cat wards for our hospital cases, so our dog patients don’t stress our cats out!
Our vets always strive to stay up to date with the most recent changes in veterinary science, with two of our vets having their honours degrees. Dr Jackie Sharp in Small Animal Medicine, and Dr Bronwyn Prytz in Small Animal Surgery
We regularly do welfare sterilisations, at cost to the welfare organisation. and are committed to responsible pet ownership, and helping those in need. Dr Jackie Sharp is also involved regular in outreach projects into Alexander in her free time.
