Kirsten van Rooyen (45) is the founder and CEO of So Sorted Professional Organisers. She lives in Parkview, Johannesburg and is mom to two teenagers.

After obtaining a BSc (Town and Regional Planning) at the University of the Witwatersrand, she worked as a town planner, specializing in strategic planning for local and provincial government. After several years Kirsten entered the field of Knowledge Management with Netmax. Her ability to organize information, together with strong planning skills led her to a 7 year career at Discovery Health, heading the Knowledge Management business unit.

In 2006 Kirsten resigned from corporate life and spent 4 years raising her children. In 2010, she moved to China with her family, where she started an import-export jewelry business, while running the family’s guest house. In 2012 they moved to Hong Kong and in 2015 they returned to their beloved South Africa.

In 2017 Kirsten started a downsizing and decluttering company with a friend, focusing on helping older clients move from large family homes into retirement homes. In 2018 she started her own business, So Sorted, broadening the services to include project management, administration, and handyman services.
