The Secret Garden

The Secret Tea Garden is a wonderful little gem nestled on the lawns of Norscot Manor. The Manor it a national heritage site and serves as a local community centre, library and pre-school. The Garden is the preferred destination of parents, readers and children. It also serves as a backdrop to the garden; the large Cape-Dutch Manor house reminiscent of a Johannesburg before its' major developments. It is an emblem of a different time, a time when there was more time. As such it serves as a home away from home for those in-and-around bustling Sandton; hidden just beneath Montecasino, but severely more relaxed and more welcoming than any of its' surrounds.

Since 2014, a new owner and new management, has seen the Secret Tea Garden grow to become an established function venue. On weekends we can be seen hosting Kitchen Teas, Bridal Showers, Christenings and Birthdays for anyone between one and ninety. Our functions are well serviced by Orchard Party and Function Hire and Delicate Blooms, who allow our functions to bloom as best they know how. This partnership allows The Secret Tea Garden to serve our clients the best quality.

The Secret Tea Garden is, of course, primarily a tea garden. We serve Teas for Two from 14h30 and High Teas (for which bookings are essential).

We are open every day to mothers, fathers and children.

Our menu currently offers salads, open sandwiches, burgers, tramezzinis, pastas (including an incredible homemade lasagne). As well as traditional home baked treats which include; cakes, scones and croissants. All of these can be enjoyed with a foamy cappuccinos, or, of course a selection of teas.

For the younger ones we have a fully equipped play area; this includes a jungle gym, slides, swings, monkey bars and a jumping castle (on weekends). An ideal set-up for a family on a day out.

We hope to see you for breakfast, brunch or lunch.

"Since I've been in the garden I've looked up through the trees and have a strange feeling of being happy as if... everything is made out of magic." Frances H. Burnett, The Secret Garden
