Situated on the beautiful Lourensford estate in Somerset West, you are immediately spoilt by the surrounding views and breathtaking scenery. Life Retreat is a three in one establishment:
1. The wellness studio where people can unwind by participating in yoga or pilates which is quite dreamy as the gardens and wonderful natural environment aid the sense of escape and tranquility that is associated with yoga.
2. A lifestyle shop where there are numerous gifts and other household items to facilitate a lifestyle of simple yet sophisticated taste and lastly,
3. the spa where there are numerous treatments to help you unwind, relax and feel truly rejuvenated.
I was lucky enough to visit the spa where I received a lovely manicure. My therapist was just all too sweet, accommodating and genuinely a lovely person. She was so gentle and caring towards me and I felt truly special which I think is every girls primary requirement when visiting a spa. The mani was really lovely with a wide range of colours to choose from and the hand care was very professional. I had a scrub and a hand massage which was so nice that I actually nodded off to sleep a little – yes, from a hand massage! It was the perfect way to end my week and I highly recommend this Friday ritual!
Next up, I had a back and shoulder massage which was altogether lovely! I had the same therapist which I was thrilled about as she is just a delight. The massage was fantastic and I loved the products and oils that were used, natural and subtle in smell but still delicious. The massage was perfect and I could feel my body actually relaxing and releasing the muscle tension. My back felt like I had just done a great gym workout just without the gym and without the workout.
I really enjoyed the treatment received at Life Retreat, both form the therapist and the treatments on offer. With great views and so much more to do on the estate, this really makes for a lovely day out, birthday gift or a special spoil to oneself, from oneself 🙂
