Honouring organisations and individuals for their contribution towards social change in South Africa, the inaugural Imagine Awards took place on Friday, 30 November 2018 in Cape Town.
The Imagine Awards was founded by Survé Philanthropies, the private foundation which houses several of the Survé family’s philanthropic initiatives and in 2018, more than 100 companies were nominated across various categories including arts and culture, disability, technology, human rights, media, education, women, children and poverty alleviation.
Futureproof SA stood out amongst tough competition and received the award for Poverty Alleviation. This particular award is very near to co-founder, Lisa Illingworth and the team at Futureproof’s hearts as it recognises the difference that they are making in the lives of children and as an investment into their futures. “By equipping children from all backgrounds with the entrepreneurial skills that they need to succeed, we will make a tangible difference in our economy. This award solidifies our commitment to our next-generation of entrepreneurs ” says Lisa.
Founder of The Imagine Awards, Dr Survé was quoted saying: “Well done Futureproof, what you are doing is incredible and is exactly what this country needs”.
